Challenge
The Birmingham Curzon Street station is one of the most complex and high-profile elements of the HS2 programme. The joint venture needed independent assurance that its risk management approach was robust, comprehensive, and aligned with HS2 Ltd's requirements during the detailed design and early construction phases.
Solution
Floreer embedded within the joint venture to deliver risk assurance across the project lifecycle. This included reviewing the risk register, facilitating quantitative cost risk analysis workshops, and stress-testing the risk allocation between the joint venture partners. Floreer also benchmarked risk maturity against HS2 Ltd's expectations and provided actionable recommendations.
Outcome
The joint venture achieved a strengthened risk management framework that satisfied HS2 Ltd's assurance requirements. Key risks were identified earlier, contingency allocations were validated, and the project team gained confidence in their risk reporting and escalation processes.
